Mauro Icardi, the Argentine striker who plays for Galatasaray, has become one of the only three owners of the Rolls Royce Boat Tail, the world’s most expensive street-legal new car. Icardi reportedly paid US $28 million for the bespoke luxury coach-built grand tourer, which was revealed by Rolls Royce in May 2021.

Icardi’s Boat Tail is one of just three copies of the model that have been produced to date and is in esteemed company, as it has been reported that billionaire rapper Jay-Z and his pop star wife Beyonce have one of the others. The other is said to belong to a very wealthy person whose family built up a huge fortune in the pearl industry, but the identity of this person is still unknown.

The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is a 4-seat convertible, with the rear of the car featuring a retractable table and a telescopic umbrella. The car also has two refrigerators, one designed for champagne storage. The car takes four years to assemble its 1,813 parts into a unique final product.

The ultra-luxury model is powered by Rolls-Royce’s 6.75-liter V12 engine, which generates 563 horsepower (571 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. It is not clear if the car was ordered by and built for Icardi personally, or if he bought it from someone else. The Argentinian has kicked off the season at Galatasaray with flying colors: he scored four goals in three league games and is in great shape.
