Indian pacer Mohammad Shami’s mother extended her wishes to the Indian cricket team ahead of the ODI World Cup Final 2023. The 2023 hosts are set to lock horns with five-time champions Australia in the summit clash of the tournament. The match is slated to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19, Sunday. Ahead of the big game, Shami’s mother Anjum Ara heaped praise on her son as well as wished good luck to the team.

Ara prayed for the success of the team while praising her son, and the video went viral on social media in no time. I n the video the pacer’s mother could be heard saying, "May the almighty make the children (Indian cricket team) win & bring them back home happily..." She also said, “My prayers are with him and Insallah he will get success. I am proud of Shami. I believe he will continue to play for India for a long time.”

Speaking of Shami, the Indian pacer is tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 23 wickets in just six matches. His mother said that she is proud of her son’s achievements despite the fact that he wasn’t even part of the plans at the beginning of the tournament.
The 33-year-old took a seven-wicket haul against New Zealand, breaking several records. He now has more than 50 wickets in the ODI World Cup, which is the most by any Indian. Not only this, but he also holds the record of having the most five-wicket hauls in the history of the ODI World Cup.
