Indian cricketer Mayan k Agarwal filed a police complaint for investigation after he drank water-like-poisonous liquid on his flight. Agarwal was taken to a hospital in Agartala for drinking poisonous liquid from a pouch, thinking water, before his flight to Surat on Tuesday. The Karnataka captain registered a police complaint after the bizarre incident that shocked the cricket fraternity.
The cricketer was on board Indigo Airlines, where he drank some liquid from a pouch kept on his seat on the flight. After drinking the liquid, Agarwal had a burning sensation in his mouth and throat and was immediately taken to Agartala’s ILS Hospital where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The 32-year-old lodged a formal complaint with the police via his manager.
Now he is stable and his vitals are normal: Tripura Police
The Tripura West Police issued a statement and shared an update about Agarwal’s health condition. The SP of West Tripura Kiran Kumar said, "Mayank Agarwal, an international cricket player. Now he is stable and his vitals are normal. But his manager has lodged a specific complaint under NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station) to investigate the matter.” He added, "His manager said that when he was sitting in the airplane, there was a pouch in front of him. He drank a little bit and not much, but suddenly there was irritation in his mouth, and suddenly he couldn't talk also and was brought to ILS hospital. He had swelling and ulcers in the mouth. Otherwise, his vitals are stable.”
Kiran Gitte, State Health Secretary said, "Police has admitted his complaint and we will investigate as to what happened. As per his manager, he will travel to Bengaluru tomorrow and meanwhile, whatever best treatment is available in Agartala, we will provide him."
