Team India are currently on a winning spree as they have won all eight of their group-stage matches in the ongoing ICC men's ODI World Cup 2023. The 35-year-old Virat Kohli scored his 49th ODI ton against South Africa in their previous fixture and equalled legendary Sachin Tendulkar's record, however, former Pakistan batter Mohammad Hafeez criticised Kohli's inning and termed it a "selfish approach", which prompted former England skipper Michale Vaughan to take a cheeky dig at Hafeez with an old video.
India comfortably beat South Africa to win their eighth match in the CWC 2023 and confirmed their group-stage finish at the top of the standings. Hafeez was not pleased with 'King' Kohli's centurion knock against South Africa and called him selfish while the Pakistani went on to compare his hundred with England all-rounder Ben Stokes' century against the Netherlands on Wednesday.
Hafeez took to X and appreciated Stokes for his "selfless approach" to score a century and wrote, "Saviour of the ship @benstokes38 😍👍🏼Good 💯 under pressure anchoring the innings where required with aggressive intent to get Maximum runs for the team to win at the end. Sheer example to differentiate Selfish vs Selfless approach," and he tagged Michael Vaughan in the post.
In response, Michael Vaughan posted an old video on X, which showed a young Virat Kohli clean bowled Mohammad Hafeez on 15 runs off 28 balls in the T20 World Cup 2012. Team India went on to win the match by eight wickets with 18 balls remaining after restricting Pakistan to 128 runs in 19.4 overs.

Talking about the CWC 2023, hosts India, South Africa, and Australia are the only three teams who have qualified for the semi-finals while one team among New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan will qualify for the knockout stage. Apart from that, the top seven teams in the World Cup standings along with Pakistan will qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
