Mohammed Shami was one of the most anticipated names ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The Indian fast bowler was released by Gujarat Titans in the player's retention and was one of the big names in the mega auction. Now, the fast bowler has been sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 10 Crore in the mega auction. He was also seen in great touch making his comeback in professional cricket after an year, as the right-arm pacer scalped seven wickets in Bengal’s Ranji Trophy fixture against Madhya Pradesh.

Mohammed Shami had a memorable performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup, becoming the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 24 scalps in seven matches. After that, he wasn’t seen playing professional cricket for almost a year as he injured his knee and went for rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. He was also released by GT ahead of IPL 2025 after missing the whole season of IPL 2024 due injury. Mohammed Shami IPL Salary breakdown

Mohammed Shami started his IPL journey with Kolkata Knight Riders after the franchise picked him for ₹10 Lakhs ahead of IPL 2011. However, the fast bowler got to play his first IPL game in 2013, before he was sold to Delhi Daredevils (now known as in Delhi Capitals) for ₹4.25 Crore ahead of IPL 2014. After four years with Delhi, Shami joined Punjab Kings at a price of ₹4.8 Crore ahead of IPL 2019. Three years later, the fast bowler saw another hike in his IPL salary, as newly arrived Gujarat Titans roped him in for ₹6.25 Crore ahead of IPL 2022.

Talking about his IPL 2025 salary, Mohammed Shami will be a spearhead fast bowler along with the skipper Pat Cummins in the upcoming edition for SRH. This also means that Shami is likely to complete his quota of four overs in every game in IPL 2025. As every team is scheduled to play 14 league matches, Shami is likely to bowl a total of 336 balls during the league stage. This means that the fast bowler will earn around ₹2.98 Lakh for every ball. However, if the franchise qualifies for the final, they will not play more than 17 matches in an entire IPL season. Taking this in consideration, Shami is likely to bowl a total 408 balls in the entire season. According to this, the Indian fast bowler will likely earn around ₹2.46 Lakh per ball in IPL 2025.
