Big Ant Studios and Nacon’s new Cricket 24 is set to feature five teams from the Indian Premier League for the first in the history of the game. This new iteration of the official game is to release in June. The game will be developed in partnership with Cricket Australia and will be the official game of the Ashes.
This game will be the successor of Cricket 22, which was also released ahead of the previous Ashes series in Australia. For the new Cricket 24, teams like Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings are set to be part of the game.
As per tweets on the Cricket 24 Twitter handle, the Mumbai Indians players were seen completing their face scans for the game. Similarly, the home ground of these five teams has also been licensed.
Along with the IPL, Cricket 24 is set to pursue licensing rights for the Pakistan national team and the Pakistan Super League. Addressing the issue, Cricket 24 tweeted, “Pakistan and PSL Teams license inclusion in #Cricket24 will be pursued by Big Ant Studios.”
Talking about the new game, Big Ant CEO Ross Symons released a statement expressing that the team behind Cricket 24 are trying to bring new teams and cricket boards into the game and create a more realistic gaming experience for its users.
The statement said, “The passion and excitement shown by our fans at the prospect of another game being released before the upcoming Ashes has been overwhelming. We’ve been working incredibly hard with cricket boards all over the world to bring what is the deepest, most realistic video game representation of the sport ever.”
