2015 NBA finals MVP Andre Iguodala has confirmed his return to the Golden State Warriors. The four-time NBA champion will be playing his last NBA season after an incredible 19-year career. Iguodala will be making his comeback to the team after playing just 31 regular season games last season.
One of Iguodala’s young teammates had a special message for the veteran’s return as Johnathan Kuminga posted a tweet that said “Welcome back my brothaaaa.” But moments later, Iguodala had a hilarious reply to Kuminga’s post, saying, “My Foot Yo A** as he gave the dub-nation a moment to remember and laugh about.
In his podcast ‘Point Forward‘, Iguodala announced that he will be donning the Golden State jersey for one final time and said, “I myself will be returning for my 19th season. I was retired for the majority of the summer, but my brothers – they kinda reeled me back in. So, really looking forward to it.”
He then sarcastically pointed out a few people who take the blame for his decision. He said, "I'm going to blame a few people," Iguodala joked about his decision. "Steph Curry is one person I am going to blame. But as a group, I am blaming Steph, Draymond [Green] and Klay [Thompson].
“Steve [Kerr] a little bit, Bob Myers, I think they just showed me a lot of love. They helped me see my presence outside of physically playing basketball, but also, I think Steve was a big culprit of, 'We really need you on the court.' Draymond was big on that as well."
Iguodala put up four points on 30% shooting, 3.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds in his 31 games. He missed all but six games from the start of 2022 January to the end of the regular season with various injuries. He then was out for a month of the playoffs citing a left cervical disk injury. But Iguodala's role for Golden State goes far beyond the court.
