In a big update, the current Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf is likely to be removed as the head of the Pakistan board. This news comes after the recent political developments in the country, urging to the removal of all political appointments to ensure fair and unbiased electoral process.
The Ministry of Inter Provisional Coordination had also sent a summary for the removal of Zaka Ashraf, identifying Ashraf as one of the political appointees. The letter which went viral, can be seen quoted, “To ensure immediate termination of services of all heads of the institutions appointed on political basis and to send all such cases to the commission for approval of termination or otherwise.”
Najam Sethi likely to take over as PCB Chairman
After these latest reports of Zaka Ashraf’s removal surfaces, news of Najam Sethi taking on the post of PCB Chairman also surfaced. It is to be noted that Ashraf took over this year only in July after Sethi’s departure as the Pakistan People’s Party claimed that they should have a nominee as the PCB President. The 75-year-old had served as the PCB Chair for seven months since December 2022.
