Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir had a remarkable career where he scored loads of runs in addition to winning two World Cups with the national side. Apart from his classy style of batting, there was one more aspect of him which stood out - Gambhir's serious face!
The 40-year-old hardly used to smile on the field and his habit of staying serious continued when he became a commentator and cricket expert. While his analysis and opinions are on the point, his facial expressions often becomes the talking point on social media.
Something very similar happened during the recently-concluded Test series between South Africa and India. An image of Gambhir's serious face is now going viral on social media where the netizens have come up with a solution to the same.
In a hilarious tweet, one of the users opined that Star Sports (broadcasters) should add a clause in Gambhir's account which should ensure that he tries to smile once in a while.
Meanwhile, another fan observed a very unusual thing about the panel on TV. He pointed out that while Gambhir never smiles, there is Morne Morkel on other side who always has a grin on his face, resulting in a complete contrast. Maybe, this is what we call BALANCE of life!
Fans come up with hilarious responses
Reflecting on the same topic, the fans came up with some humorous comments. While one of the users stated that it he was living up to his surname (Gambhir means serious in English), another fan hilariously claimed that Team Lucknow have signed him as mentor for IPL 2022 as they want to say, "Muskuraye, app Lucknow mein hai" to him.
While fans would certainly love to see Gambhir smile a bit more, they would hope that Team India give him more reasons to do so. After a defeat in Test series, a comeback performance in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa might just bring a little bit of grin back on his face.
