The Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah announced the appointment of former Indian batter Gautam Gambhir as the new Head Coach of the men's national team. The recent T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA, former Indian captain Rahul Dravid's stint as the Indian head coach ended.
But even before the World Cup, Gambhir was deemed the successor to Dravid. Confirming the multiple media reports, BCCI secretary Jay Shah posted a tweet on X welcoming Gambhir as the new Indian coach. Reacting to this development, fans of the Indian cricket teams expressed their excitement while welcoming Gambhir as the new head coach while deeming the appointment as a new era.
