On Sunday, October 6, Mayank Yadav made his India debut in the T20I format in style, bowling a maiden in his first over against Bangladesh in the first match of the series at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. Mayank Yadav bowled at very high pace in the first over of his international career, giving Bangladesh batter Towhid Hridoy no chance to rotate the strike, let alone hit a boundary in the closing stage of the powerplay.

With that, Mayank Yadav became the third Indian bowler to start their T20I career with a maiden over, finding himself in the illustrious list alongside Indian chief selector Ajit Agarkar and his current teammate Arshdeep Singh. In his second over, the right-arm fast bowler dismissed the experienced batter from Bangladesh, Mahmudullah Riyad, to pick up the first wicket of his international career.

Mayank Yadav is making his T20I debut alongside Nitish Kumar Reddy for India against Bangladesh

Mayank Yadav isn’t the only debutant for India in the first T20I of the three-match series against Bangladesh as he shares the honour with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. The Indian team management will be hoping to see the young fast bowler prosper in his international career after investing him in a lot in the build-up to his international debut itself.

Here are the fans reactions on X after Mayank Yadav started his India career with a maiden over:
