Newcastle finally ended a drought of 70 years for the domestic trophy as they recently won the English League (Carabao) Cup. To celebrate this historic triumph, the club is organizing an open bus parade which will run from St James’ Park, through the city center and end at the Town Moor. After that, a hour-long ceremony will take place where the players will unveil the trophy.

Newcastle defeated Liverpool by 2-1 in the final at Wembley Stadium in London on March 16 to finally end the 70-year long wait for a domestic trophy since the FA cup in 1955. Newcastle took the first lead after Dan Burn stuck in the 45th minute. After the, the scoreline went to Alexander Isak scored in the 52nd minute. On the other hand, Liverpool got their first goal in the extra time by Federico Chiesa but it was too late as Newcaslte went on to register a historic win.

More than 150000 people set to attend open bus parade by Newcastle

It has also been a great moment for the fans who were patiently waiting for Newcastle’s title over the generations. Now, after almost two weeks of the club’s historic wins the fans will be looking to catch every moment of the open bus parade live. More than 150,000 fans are expected to join the celebrations at the Town Moor.

The parade is scheduled to start from St James Park at 4:30 p.m. local time. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe who has been nominated for a municipal honor has also called “Freedom of the City. ” Club figures who have received the recognition include Alan Shearer, Bobby Robson and Shaka Hislop.
