American tennis ace Coco Gauff continued her impressive run at the Australian Open 2024 as she breezed past World No. 82 ranked fellow American Alycia Parks on Friday, 19th January. She cruised past her compatriot with a commanding win with the scoreline of 6-0, 6-2.  

The World No. 4 ranked displayed her prowess on the court as she continues a flawless record of not dropping a set in the tournament so far. But Gauff also acknowledged the challenges posed by her opponent, calling her “a difficult player”. Moreover, Gauff while acknowledging her opponent, shared an epic moment where she called Parks to “play in the final” next time.

“I’m really happy with how I played. The score says different. She’s a tough player. She hits the ball big. I’ve known her since I was like 8 years old. Our first time ever playing juniors or pros. Hopefully we can have many more matches in the future,” 19-year-old Gauff said at the post-match interaction.

The reigning US Open champion will next take on Polish tennis player, Magdalena Frech in Round of 16 clash at the Australian Open 2024. The match between the fourth ranked and the 69th -ranked player will be played on January 21.
