Brazilian football star Neymar Jr has been involved in a fair share of controversies over the years. The PSG forward now has issued a public apology to his pregnant girlfriend Bruna Biancardi after reports surfaced that he cheated on her with social media influencer Fernanda Campos. The Paris Saint-Germain player posted a lengthy message on Instagram, admitting his mistake and expressing his guilt over exposing Biancardi to such humiliation.
Neymar and Biancardi, a model and fashion influencer, announced their pregnancy in April 2023, revealing that they are expecting a baby boy. The couple had been dating for a few months and had a "wavering" start to their relationship, according to Neymar. However, their romance was rocked by allegations of infidelity after Campos leaked screenshots of her text messages with Neymar on June 18, 2023.
The messages showed that Neymar and Campos had been flirting since December 2022 and that they hooked up on February 13, 2023, the eve of Valentine's Day. Neymar allegedly told Campos that he and Biancardi were "complicated at the moment" and that he wanted to see her again. Neymar was not happy with his personal life being made public and decided to apologize to Biancardi on Instagram.
He wrote: "I made a mistake. I made a mistake with you. I dare say that I make mistakes every day, on and off the pitch. But I solve my mistakes in my personal life at home, in my intimacy with my family and my friends."
The former Barcelona winger added that he felt obliged to reaffirm his apology publicly since the matter had gone public. Neymar wrote, “'Bru, I already apologized for my mistakes, for unnecessary exposure, but I feel obligated to come publicly reaffirm that. If a private matter has become public, the apology has to be public.”
It is not clear if Biancardi has accepted Neymar's apology or if they are still together. Neymar already has an 11-year-old son, Davi Lucca, from his previous relationship with Carolina Dantas. However, there are rumours that the model actually lets her Brazilian star fiancée cheat on her; though, there are a few ground rules that he must adhere to, as reported by the New York Post.
