Pakistan are on a verge of losing a home Test series against Bangladesh as the visitors are just 143 runs behind to script history. After losing the first match in Rawalpindi by 10 wickets, Pakistan failed to take a big lead against Bangladesh in the ongoing second Test in Rawalpindi and set a target of 185 runs for Bangladesh to win.

One of the major setbacks for Pakistan in the ongoing Test series in the form of their star batter Babar Azam. The right-hander could only score 31 runs and 11 runs in both the innings of the Test match respectively. He hasn’t been able to reach the 50-run mark in the last 16 Test innings. Due to his poor form, Babar Azam has been facing lot of trolls on social media in recent times. However, former Indian wicket keeper batter Dinesh Karthik recently gave a statement in a support for the Pakistani cricketer.

In his HeyCB with DK show on Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik lauded Babar Azam’s batting skills and said that the quality of a player like him can never be doubted. “Babar Azam as a player, nobody can doubt his quality. He’s got outstanding batting potential, though I feel he’s under a lot of pressure as a skipper. That’s something that they need to rethink about” Karthik was quoted as saying by News18.com

“Pakistan now in that Test match against Bangladesh; I thought they declared a touch too early in the first inning. In Asia, it’s about batting big and batting long in the first inning,” Dinesh Karthik further said.
