The Rohit Sharma-led Team India will take on Pakistan in their third match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. While the Men in Blue are coming into this game after winning both their games so far in the tournament, Pakistan are also coming with a similar result. While the hosts beat Australia and Afghanistan, Pakistan beat Netherlands and Asian rivals Sri Lanka.

But what was more important than India’s win at the Cricket World Cup 2023, was Shubman Gill’s absence. The 24-year-old Indian opener missed the first two matches of the marquee tournament as he tested positive for dengue on arrival in Chennai. He thereafter stayed in Chennai while the rest of the team travelled to Delhi for the match against Afghanistan.
But, in a massive, good news, the star batter reached Ahmedabad ahead of the team and commence his net practice. However, on the eve of the all-important India vs Pakistan clash, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma shared a big update on Shubman Gill. While talking in the pre-match press conference, Rohit Sharma revealed that Gill is 99 per cent available for selection for the game against Pakistan.
“99% Shubman Gill is available for selection against Pakistan,” Rohit said at the presser on Friday, October 13.
Talking about the points table of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, India sits at third place, whereas Pakistan are right below them at the fourth place.
