Although the Men in Blue have seen the return of Shubman Gill, the Bangladesh team have a sign of worry as their skipper a slight quad tear in their last match of the CWC 2023. Meanwhile he remains doubtful for the game against India, Bangladesh Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha has shared an update.
Speaking ahead of the match, Hathurusingha said that Shakib had a good batting session on Tuesday but the scan results are still awaited. “He had a good batting session yesterday and did a little bit of running between the wickets as well. We did a scan today, we are waiting for the result. At the moment, he is okay,” Hathurusingha said.
He further added that Bangladesh will assess him again on the matchday morning. It is to be noted that Shakib got injured while taking a run but continued to bat and bowled his 10 overs.
“We haven’t tried with him bowling yet. We will assess him again and we will make a decision. If he is not ready to play, we won’t risk him. But if he is ready, then there is a chance of him playing tomorrow,” Hathurusingha added.
