India is scheduled to play their first match of the ODI World Cup 2023 against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8, Sunday. The flagship tournament will see all 10 teams compete against each other in the group stage to determine the top four who will move to the semi-final stage.

Notably, the opening match of the ODI World Cup 2023 saw the runners-up New Zealand get the better of the defending champions England by nine wickets. They chased down the target of 283 in just 36.2 overs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to start their campaign in the quadrennial tournament on a high note.
