Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is celebrating his 27th birthday on October 12, 2024. The left-handed batter has gained immense popularity in the last couple of years with his impressive batting skills, scoring runs consistently in every tournement he plays in. Rinku came into limelight when he smashed five consecutive sixes while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023 when the team needed 28 runs off the last five balls against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. He pulled off the heist against Yash Dayal, to help KKR registered a famous win in IPL.
Apart from this famous game from last year, Rinku Singh also had a great season with the bat in IPL 2023 as he scored 474 runs from 14 matches at a strike rate of 149.52. With his commendable performances, Rinku also got maiden India call-up in 2023 for a T20I series against Ireland. Rinku has also shone through while playing for India, amassing 471 runs in 25 T20I matches in his career so far at a strike rate of 175.09.
Rinku Singh's Career
Rinku Singh made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018. He didn’t get much chances for the first few seasons, but still, he played some impactful knocks, including 40(15) runs against Lucknow Super Giants during IPL 2022. However, Rinku had his best IPL season in 2023. The left hander was the highest run scorer for KKR in IPL 2023 with 474 runs in 14 matches.
With that, it was academic that Rinku Singh played for the Indian cricket team for the first-time in a T20I series against Ireland in 2023. The left-handed abtter didn’t get the chance to bat in his debut T20I match, but went on to score a quickfire 38(21) in the second match to receive the player of the match award. In the last year or so, Rinku Singh established himself as a crucial middle-order batter for India in the T20I format. He also made his ODI debut for India in 2023. However, the UP-born cricketer has played only two ODI matches for the Indian cricket team so far.
