Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is the all-time highest run scorer in the history of international cricket. The legendary cricketer has amassed 34357 runs from 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and one T20I, along with 100 centuries. With this, Sachin is also the only player in international cricket to cross the milestone of 30000 runs. The right-hander achieved this feat during a Test match against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad on November 20, 2009.

Coming to bat on day one of the Test match, Sachin Tendulkar was 39 runs short of the milestone of 30000 international runs. However, the right-hander couldn’t get a big score and lost his wicket after scoring a mere four runs. India posted 426 runs in the first innings, with Rahul Dravid (177 off 261) and skipper MS Dhoni (110 off 159) scoring respective centuries. After that, Mahela Jayawardene came up with 275-run knock along with centuries by Tillakaratne Dilshan (112 off 133) and Prasanna Jayawardene (154* off 314) as Sri Lanka posted 760/7 taking a lead of 334 runs in the first innings.

Sachin Tendulkar scored 88th international after completing 30000 runs

Coming to bat in the second innings, Sachin Tendulkar was still 35-run short for the milestone of 30000 international runs. During the 44th over of the innings, Sachin took a single to become the first-ever player in the history to reach the milestone of 30000 runs in international cricket across all formats of the game. Along with this milestone, Sachin also brought up his 88th international hundred. The right-hander remained unbeaten on 100*(211) runs after Gautam Gambhir 114-run knock as India finished the final day on 412/4 leading the Test match to end in a draw.
