Zaheer Khan, the former Indian cricketer, was widely regarded as one of the best pacers for India during his tenure with over 300 wickets in Test cricket, and 250+ wickets in the ODI format. The left-arm fast bowler was also a part of the Indian cricket team that won the 2011 ODI World Cup. He finished as the joint highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 21 scalps from nine matches. Joint-highest wicket-taker in 2011 ODI World Cup: Zaheer Khan played a crucial role in India’s ODI World Cup triumph after 28 years in 2011. The left-arm pacer took 21 wickets from nine matches, and was also the joint highest wicket-taker of the tournament along with Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi.
2nd fastest Indian to take 250 ODI wickets: Zaheer Khan is the second fastest Indian bowler to reach the milestone of 250 ODI wickets after Ajit Agarkar. The left-arm pacer achieved the feat in his 180th ODI match against South Africa in Cape Town on January 18, 2011.
1000 runs and 100 wickets in Tests: Zaheer Khan is also in the elite list of players to score more than 1000 runs, and take 100+ wickets in Test cricket. The former cricketer has taken 311 wickets with the ball, and scored 1231 runs with the bat in 92 Test matches during his career.
