The Indian commentator and former  head coach of the Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru drew similarity between the icons of two different cricketing eras. The 50-year-old Bangar said, " Only one player can match Virat Kohli’s style and that’s Vivian Richards."

Richards is one of the greatest cricketers to have ever played the game. The 71-year-old Richards represented the West Indies cricket team between 1974 and 1991. On the other hand, Kohli, the Indian cricket superstar is a part of the Indian contingent for the Asia Cup 2023.

Coming back to the game, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bowl first. India skipper Rohit Sharma alongside Shubman Gill gave their side a brilliant opening and returned to the pavilion after scoring 56 off 49 and 58 off 52. The high-octane clash came to a halt during the 25th over when Virat Kohli was batting at 8* while KL Rahul was on 17 off 28.
