After taking on the field, the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started with the word go as they thrashed the Pakistan pace attack all-round the park to put up 60 runs inside the first powerplay. While the Men in Blue looked to have come with an intention to go all throttle, the Pakistan fielding once again came under the scanners for several instances of misfielding. One of these instances came in the over bowled by Naseem Shah as the slip fielders missed to complete a catch, giving a life to Gill.

On the third delivery of the eighth over when Gill survived a close dismissal, Mohammed Kaif, who was present in the commentary box for the Hindi panel, hit out at Pakistan’s yet again poor fielding. “Pakistan and their fielding”, Kaif stated, adding that it has been a continuous phenomenon.

It did not rest well among the fans also as they called out the Pakistan fielding and even compared this instance with one from the old days.

Talking about the match so far, the Indian batting duo of Sharma and Gill added 61/0 at the end of 10 overs with the skipper coring 18 off 30 balls, while Gill scored 41 off 30 deliveries.
