Pakistan cricket team, who locked horns with Bangladesh on October 31 in the ODI World Cup 2023, switched to Zomato to order food. Amidst the hectic schedule of matches and practice sessions, the Men in Green enjoyed a day off before their fixture and enjoyed an appetising meal of biryani. However, the team switched to Zomato for their food as the hotel they were staying in didn’t have biryani on their menu.

As per the Pakistan Sports journalist Farid Khan, the Babar Azam-led side wanted to try the local variety of the Kolkata biryani, which wasn’t available on the hotel menu. Thus, they ended up switching to the food delivery app, Zomato. Not only this, but they also ordered chap, firni, kebabs, and shahi tukda on Zomato from one of the most famous restaurants in Kolkata.

Shadman Faize, the director of the Zam Zam Restaurant, told ANI, "The order came through an online food delivery platform. They ordered three dishes which were biryani, kebabs, and chap. They ordered it on Sunday evening after 7 PM. Initially, we had no idea that the order was from the Pakistan cricket team but later we got to know it. I hope they liked the food. People from every nationality should come and try our food. Kolkata has its own style of biryani which is very famous all over the world."

Speaking of the match, the 1992 champions locked horns with Shakib Al Hasan-led side on October 31, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The Tigers’ captain won the toss and opted to bat first. However, Hasan and his men lost three wickets by the end of 12 wickets.
