On Saturday, August 3, Anant Jeet Naruka bowed out of the Paris Olympics 2024 after a disappointing two days of qualification in the men’s skeet event at the Chateauroux Shooting Center. The Asian Games silver medallist was unable to deliver his best performance at the Olympics, to finish in 24th place, failing to qualify for the final.

In a 30-man field for the men’s skeet event at the Paris 2024, Anant Jeet Naruka started poorly on the first day of qualification yesterday, scoring only 23, 22, and 23 points out of a possible 25 in the first three rounds. Earlier today, he improved his performance slightly with two rounds of 24s, but it was far from enough to finish in the top six spots for a shot at a medal.

The overall total of 116/125 for Anant Jeet Naruka was a far cry in comparison to the American, Conner Lynn Prince, who scored a whopping 124/125, to finish in first place in the men’s skeet qualification. His mentor and the three-time Olympic champion, Vincent Hancock, scored 123/125, to reach yet another men’s skeet final, this time in Paris.

Tammaro Cassandro from Italy and Lee Meng Yuan from Chinese Taipei took second and third places respectively after scoring 124/125 but separated by EQOR. Stefan Nillson from Sweden and Nicolás Pacheco Espinosa from Peru took the last two spots in the men’s skeet final after notching up 122/125 on the scorecard.
