England captain Harry Kane has finally completed his much-awaited transfer to Bavarian giants Bayern Munich. There has been much said about the EURO 110 million move, both in terms of football and finance, but the strangest discourse has to be about Harry Kane’s training boots and the mystery date written on it. A post about Kane training with his Bayern Munich teammates was closely analyzed by fans online and a close up of his boots went viral on social media, earning more than a million likes as fans took to the comments to speculate about the mystery date.
The date, which is 17.08.23, has fans speculating about what it could all mean. Theories are rampant, with some claiming that the star striker is referencing Indonesia’s Independence Day. Others claim it honors Gabon’s Independence Day, or National Cupcake Day. Some even jokingly claimed it was the date Son would also be leaving Tottenham.
The most likely answer, however, is that it is the expected date of birth of Kane’s fourth baby. In March, the ex-Tottenham skipper and wife Kate announced that their fourth baby was on the way. Kane has two daughters and a son with wife Katie Goodland.

Harry Kane made his Bayern Munich debut as a substitute against RB Leipzig in the Supercup. Unfortunately for Kane, however, his hunt for a trophy continued with a shocking 3-0 victory for Leipzig. The DfB Pokal winners ran rampant against a Bayern side that not only looked tactically outclassed but also lacking in fitness. A Dani Olmo hattrick sealed silverware for the East German outfit as Bayern will have a lot to reflect on going into the new Bundesliga season.
Last year’s campaign was one of the worst in recent history for Bayern, who have won the Bundesliga title 11 times in a row now. The league was all but out of their hands last season, and they only managed to cross the finish line thanks to a Dortmund draw at home. Thomas Tuchel has a long season ahead of him and might need to refresh tactically and mentally to really get their season underway.
