Fast bowler Arjun Tendulkar registered best bowling figures of his career in first-class on Day 1 of the ongoing match between Goa and Arunachal Pradesh at Goa Cricket Association Ground in Penha de França. The 25-year-old took a five-wicket haul as Goa bowled Arunachal Pradesh out for just 84 runs in the first innings. Apart from that, Kashyap Bakhale and Snehal Kauthankar also shone with centuries as Goa have already put themselves in a commanding position against Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh’s decision to bat first after winning the toss backfired on them as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Arjun Tendulkar destroyed the top order of Arunachal Pradesh taking the first five wickets. The left-arm pacer registered figures 5/25 in his spell of nine overs. Apart from that, Mohit Redkar also scalped three wickets, while Keith Pinto put two in his bag. 

Kashyap Bakhale nearing 200 as Goa go past 400 runs

After a commendable performance with the ball, Goa went on to continue their domination against Arunachal Pradesh with the bat as well. In reply to Arunachal’s total of 84 runs. Goa also lost their first wicket early at the score of 12 runs in 1.4 overs. Opening batter Ishaan Gadekar lost his wicket Yab Niya after scoring just three runs off four balls. After that, Suyash Prabhudessai and Kashyap Bakhala took charge of the innings as the duo put up a partnership of 109 runs for the second wicket. 

Suyash Prabhudessai got out after a well-made 73 runs off 64 balls with 11 fours and a six. After that, Snehal Kauthankar joined Kashyap Bakhale at the crease as both the batters didn’t let any wicket fall for the rest of the day with an unbeaten partnership of 293 runs as Goa scored 414/2 by the end of day one.  Playing his second Ranji game, the 26-year-old Bakhale went on to score his maiden first-class century and is currently unbeaten on 179*(154).  Apart from that, Kauthankar also reached triple figures and is currently batting on 146*(100) ahead of day two.
