On Saturday, April 12, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) registered a comfortable six-wicket win over Gujarat Titans (GT) in match number 26 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. For the unversed, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to field first, thus inviting the visitors to put the score first.

On the back of a 120-run stand for the first wicket between Sai Sudharsan (56 off 37) and skipper Shubman Gill (60 off 38), GT posted 180 runs at the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Later on, in pursuit of 181-run target, LSG comfortable chased the total in 19.3 overs with brilliant knocks from the bats of Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran.

Protean international Aiden Markram kickstarted with a bang, alongside Rishabh Pant to give a quick start at the top of the order, Although, LSG skipper’s innings was cut short by Prasidh Krishna, Markram was joined by Nicholas Pooran, who once again brought his fifty-plus score.

Pooran powered to 61 off 34 deliveries with his inning being laced with one four and seven sixes at a strike rate of 179.41. On the back of Pooran’s crucial quickfire knock, LSG chased the total in 19.3 overs. The West Indies international with his 61-run knock, once again reached at the top of the table of highest run-scorer, reclaiming the Orange Cap from Sai Sudharsan. After six matches, Pooran has amassed 349 runs at an average of 69.80.
