India continued their dominance at home as they defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the second Test to win the two-match Test series by 2-0. India outclassed Bangladesh in batting, bowling, and fielding, to register yet another Test series success at their home ground. Yashasvi Jaiswal won player of the match award with the scores of 72 and 51 in both innings respectively. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin was adjudged player of the series for his all-round performances across both Tests.
After bowling Bangladesh out for 233 runs in the first innings, the Indian team declared their first innings on 285/9 with a lead of 52 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal top scored with 72 runs off 51 balls with 12 fours and two sixes. Apart from that, KL Rahul also got out after a well-made 68(43) runs. Virat Kohli (47 off 35) and Shubman Gill (39 off 36) also gave useful contributions with the bat. The best part is that India scored those 285 runs in just 34.4 overs. After that, the Indian bowlers did their part in the second innings as well, led by Ravichandran Ashwin's three-wicket haul, to back up his two wickets in the first innings.

Coming to in the second innings, Bangladesh were bowled out just 146 runs, giving India a target of 95 runs to win the match and the series. For India, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah took 3-3 wickets each, while Akash Deep took one. In reply, India chased the winning target in 17.2 overs with Yashasvi Jaiswal top scoring with 51(45) runs, while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 27*(39) runs. After the match, Ashwin achieved a new milestone in his name.
Ravichandran Ashwin won player of the series for amassing 114 runs with the bat and taking 11 wickets with the ball in two Test matches. With this, Ashwin has equaled Sri Lanka legend Muttiah Muralitharan to win most player of the series in Test cricket. Both cricketers have now 11 player of the series awards to their name in the longest format of the game.
