Fast bowler Shardul Thakur turned out to be match-winner with his bowling performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 clash at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Playing his second game of the season, Thakur took four wickets as SRH, who smashed 286/6 in their previous game were restricted at 190/9 in their 20 overs against LSG.
As SRH were batting first, Shardul Thakur was the first strike for LSG as he dismissed Abhishek Sharma (6 off 6) at the score of 15 runs in 2.1 overs. In the very next ball, Thakur took a big wicket of Ishan Kishan, who made a century in the previous game. After that, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy added 61 runs for the third wicket. Head got out after scoring 47 runs off 28 balls hitting five fours and three sixes while Reddy scored 32(28) runs with two boundaries.

In the middle-order, Heinrich Klaasen (26 of 17) and Aniket Verma (36 off 13) were looking to guide SRH to another 200+ total but Klaasen got runout in the 12th over, while Aniket also lost his wicket in the 16th over.After that, Shardul Thakur struck again in the 17th and 19th over to add two more wickets to his tally. He ended up with the figures of 4/34 in his spell of four overs.
After that, Nicholas Pooran smashed a fiery 70(26) runs while Mitchell Marsh also scored 52(31) runs as LSG defeated SRH by five wickets to register their first win of IPL 2025. David Miller and Abdul Samad finshed things off LSG under 17 overs. After losing their preivous game against Delhi Capitals, LSG finally got a win in the ongoing season while SRH lost their first game of the season.
