Nainital Ninjas clashed against Haridwar Heroes in the fourth fixture of the Uttarakhand Premier League 2024. Haridwar Heroes’ skipper Ravikumar Samarth won the toss and invited the rivals to put the score on the board first. Nainital Ninjas got off to a decent start but received their first setback within four overs. The Heroes got their first success in the form of Avneesh Sudha, who was forced to walk back to the hut after scoring 11 runs off 11 deliveries.

Their second wicket came quickly in the sixth over, but Priyanshu Khanduri took the steering in his hands before things would have gone worse for them. Khanduri scored 56 runs off 31 balls.  Bhanu Pratap Singh scored 35 runs in 30 balls while Harsh Rana and Prateek Rana had to call off their innings in single-digit figures only. Arush Girish and Rajan Kumar scored 32* runs and 29 runs, respectively while Nikhil Pundir remained not-out at 8 runs. Owing to Khanduri fifty, Nainital put on a target of 190 runs for the players.

Shashwat Dangwal’s 46-ball 77 goes in vain as Haridwar Heroes register 21-run loss

In response to the decent target set by their rivals, Haridwar Heroes walked into bat hoping to start on an explosive note. However, contrary to their expectations, they lost both their openers within three overs. While their impact sub Kunalveer Singh tried to change the momentum of the game for his side, he was forced to walk back after just five runs. While things could go any worse for the Heroes, Shashwat Dangwal came to the team’s rescue.

The 21-year-old came up with a blistering and crucial knock of 77 runs off 46 deliveries, with a combination of eight boundaries and four maximums. Situation started taking a U-turn for them, but batters kept changing on the other end of the pitch. Unfortunately, Shashwat’s knock didn’t turn out to be fruitful and the side lost the game by 21 runs.
