Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner Preity Zinta clarified her reference related to India mainstay batter Virat Kohli. Zinta stays active on social media and recently she conducted a Q & A session on X during which a user posed a question about her decision to settle abroad after her wedding. Responding to the question, she said that living a life filled with love and family was far more crucial for her than being in a toxic relationship just to live in India. Preity’s reply attracted some negative reactions, but one of them was taken to the cleaners by the veteran Bollywood actress.
A troll commented, "Lahore film ke liye sanghi ko khus karti Zinta." The remark was made to take a dig at the actress’s statements. However, Preity didn’t shy away from replying to the troll and gave it back. She wrote back, “Jo apni shakal dikhane ke layak nahi, aur Virat ki photo use kar raha hai… usse comment karne ka koi hak nahi.” The troll used Kohli’s image as his display picture.
Zinta clarified her Virat reference
Following Zinta’s statement, a netizen asked her “Preity ji Virat ji ko kyu toda?” Replying to the user’s query, she said, "Please don’t say that. I absolutely adore Virat. That troll was using Virat Kohli’s photo as their DP, so I commented on that. People who hide behind celebrity faces as their DP and troll others are not allowed to post on my timeline. That’s all!"
Preity issued the statement to sort out the misunderstanding and delivering the message she has an amiable relationship with the star India player. Preity’s IPL team PBKS will be seen in action in upcoming IPL 2025. Punjab will start their campaign against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 25.
In the IPL 2025 auction held in Jeddah in November 2024, Punjab invested big money to reserve the services of star players such as Shreyas Iyer and Yuzvendra Chahal. Iyer, who guided Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their third title win in 2024, will lead Punjab this year.
