Young cricketer Prithvi Shaw isn’t having a great time in his cricketing career. He has been struggling with form and also went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction last year. He was a part of Delhi Capitals till IPL 2024 but wasn’t retained by the franchise for the 18th edition, which is currently going on. Recently, Shaw can also be seen getting ignored by one of the DC owners in a viral video.
The video seems to be of some event where Prithvi Shaw spotted Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao, Chairperson of GMR group, which has a 50% stake in the DC franchise. Shaw tried to stop Mallikarjuna but the DC co-owner didn’t even take a moment to look at young cricketer and kept going. After that, Shaw kept looking back at him for a few seconds.

We all need a jolt: Parth Jindal after Prithvi Shaw went unsold in IPL 2025 auction
Prithvi Shaw, who smashed a century in his debut Test for India, is currently isn’t finding any way to make a comeback with his bat. He couldn’t get a big knock in the IPL in the last few years. However, he got a good outing with the bat in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he amassed 197 runs from nine matches at a strike rate of 156.34. Shaw got a big shock after he went unsold in the mega auction last year. Reacting to this, DC co-owner Parth Jindal also stated that the young cricketer has been understood in many ways.
"Prithvi is a great kid, but is misunderstood in many ways. I think, once in a while, we all need a jolt, and need to be shaken up from our slump. But when all your life you grow up hearing that you are the special open, the most talented, and is the only other batsman in the world other than Sachin and Kohli to own an MRF bat, that tells you a lot,” Jindal said after the auction.
