After joining the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Rajasthan Royals in 2018, England's white-ball skipper Jos Buttler has been one of the most valuable players for the franchise. Reportedly, Rajasthan Royals are looking to secure the English batter's services for the long term and offer a landmark four-year contract to Buttler, worth crores of rupees.
Ahead of Buttler, his compatriot Jofra Archer was reportedly offered a full-time deal worth around INR 10 crore by Mumbai Indians. Apart from Archer and Buttler, England all-rounder Moeen Ali has reportedly been targeted by Major League Cricket (MLC) for their upcoming tournament as the league has made a lucrative offer for the CSK all-rounder.
Buttler made his IPL debut in 2016 after joining Mumbai Indians and played two seasons with the joint-record five-time IPL champions. In 2018, Buttler joined Rajasthan and played a crucial role in helping the inaugural IPL winners reach the final of the 2022 edition. The RR opener smashed four centuries in the 2022 season and finished as the Orange Cap winner with 863 runs.
According to a report by The Telegraph, Jos Buttler is set to be offered a landmark four-year deal by his IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. The contract features a massive deal worth crores of rupees, however, it's unclear whether Buttler intends to accept the offer. Additionally, the lucrative contract has not been formally tabled yet by the Jaipur-based IPL franchise.
In his IPL career, Buttler has played 96 matches scoring 3223 runs across eight seasons with an average of 37.92, and a strike rate of 148.32. The England skipper registered five centuries and 19 half-centuries while he remained not out in 10 matches. Buttler's 2022 season with RR was phenomenal as he scored 863 runs in 17 matches with four centuries and half-centuries each.
