Rajat Patidar, who plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, recently had a surgical procedure done. The youngster was suffering from a heel injury for quite some time now. This injury failed to recover in time, as a result Patidar was ruled out from the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

The right-handed batsman recently tweeted a picture and a heartfelt message for his fans. The picture showed the batsman in a hospital bed, doing the ‘thumbs up’ gesture. The caption read, “Just wanted to give a quick update to all my supporters out there. I recently underwent surgery for an injury that has been troubling me for a while now, but I'm happy to say that it went well and I'm on the road to recovery! Thank you all for prayers ❤️.”

The official handle of RCB also retweeted and wrote, “Good to hear about the successful surgery, Ra-Pa. ❤️‍🩹 We can't wait to see you back in RCB colours next year! Sending you all the love and best wishes! ❤️🙌”

Vyshak Vijay Kumar was named as Rajat Patidar’s replacement for the remainder of IPL 2023. The injured batsman played a significant role in RCB’s campaign last year. He scored a scintillating century in the all-important Eliminator match of the IPL playoffs against arch rivals Lucknow Super Giants. This superb knock helped RCB win the game by 14 runs and qualified for the Qualifier 2.

RCB are currently placed at the sixth position in the points table. They will take on the Delhi Capitals in their next fixture in Delhi on May 6.
