India saw one of the biggest day unfold on January 22 as the world witnessed the Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha. While the ceremony was starred with celebrities from all genres of the subcontinent, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma failed to make it to the ceremony in Ayodhya.
While there were reports of Virat Kohli reaching Ayodhya, but the Indian batting great did not make it to the consecration ceremony. However, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Ravindra Jadeja, Mithali Raj and Venkatesh Prasad were in attendance at the event from the cricketing sphere. However, the exact reason behind Virat Kohli missing the ceremony is not known, the Borad of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, 22nd January announced Kohli’s withdrawal from the first two Tests.
Moreover, the board requested fans and media to refrain from making any speculation as the player cited “personal reasons” for his miss. However, a Virat Kohli lookalike was spotted in Ayodhya and was mobbed by fans for pictures.
Why MS Dhoni & Rohit Sharma missed Ram Mandir Pran Prathishtha in Ayodhya?
Former India captain MS Dhoni and Team India skipper Rohit Sharma were also invited for the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. However, both failed to make it to the event. The former skipper was seen playing tennis a day prior to the D-day in Ranchi, video of which went viral, but the reason for his absence from the ceremony is yet unknown.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is currently on national duty. The 36-year-old is gearing for the five-match Test series against England, scheduled to kickstart from January 25 in Hyderabad.
