Amidst th e Indian team's struggling performance against South Africa in the T20 World Cup, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has managed to spark up another possible controversy. As Ashwin went ahead to bowl the last ball of his over, the Rajasthan Royals offie was seen attempting a 'Mankad' or runout at the non-strikers' end to David Miller.

After Ashwin's over, Mohammed Shami gave away six overs, staging a final over where Bhuvaneshwar Kumar had to defend six runs. Bhuvi started off well but couldn't contain a thunderous Miller, who scored two consecutive boundaries to clinch the victory.

After the match, the star of the first innings, Lungi Ngidi was awarded the Player of the Match award. Ngidi picked up four wickets and broke the back of the Indian top order and came back to dismiss Hardik Pandya. The 26-year-old, in the post-game interview, expressed how the game ended up as a thrilling encounter. 

Ngidi then opened up about how a performance like this and the award have been one of his dreams. Hence he was extremely elated with the result. 

The Chennai Super Kings fast bowler said, "It was pretty nerve-wracking when games get down that close, as a bowler you can't do much and just have to believe in the boys. This is one of my biggest dreams, to get something like this (award) at the World Cup and help the country win a game, will cherish it for a long time. "
