Team India will aim to give a strong fightback to the Proteas Men in the second and final Test of the two-match Test in South Africa. The Rohit Sharma-led side lost by an inning and 32 runs in the Boxing Day Test, which was played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. What was followed was more disappointing as they were docked two points in World Test Championship table for maintaining slow overrate.
But after a disappointing loss, the Men in Blue had a few key moments as well. While KL Rahul played a centurion knock, Kohli also stood firm in the second innings giving a fightback while Jasprit Bumrah was the lone standout in the bowling lineup. But ahead of the second Test, the Indian camp has got good news as all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is likely to be fit in time for the final Test.
This comes after the star all-rounder commenced his training with the side in Cape Town. Earlier, Jadeja missed the series opener due to an upper back spasm, he felt on Day 1. A reported by PTI, Jadeja was part of the warm-up session before the proceedings started on Day 3. The all-rounder did not look in any sort of discomfort as he reportedly ram multiple 30-40m short strides.
While R Ashwin was named in the XI in place of Jadeja and even did fairly well, picking 1 for 41 in his 19 overs in unfavorable conditions for spinners, the Men in Blue felt Jadeja’s absence with the bat.
