It is now reported that German club RB Leipzig are looking to sign Jobe Bellingham in the upcoming summer transfer window. But apart from Leipzig, the 19-year-old Sunderland midfielder has been of interest to a number of top clubs. Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have expressed interest in signing him. Chelsea and Real Madrid are also said to be keeping an eye on him. Despite this interest, Bellingham remains under contract with Sunderland until 2028, and the club may be reluctant to sell him, especially if they are pursuing promotion to the Premier League.
Jobe extended his contract with the club on August 16, 2024, committing himself until the end of the 2027-28 season. This extension places Sunderland in a strong position amid transfer interest from multiple clubs. Reports indicate that Sunderland values Bellingham at a minimum of £25 million and that his contract does not include a release clause, allowing the club to negotiate favorable terms should a transfer be considered.
Leipzig sack head coach Marco Rose
RB Leipzig have sacked head coach Marco Rose after a string of disappointing results in domestic and European competitions. The team is currently in sixth position in the Bundesliga, three points off fourth-positioned FSV Mainz, putting their qualification for the Champions League in jeopardy. The termination came after a 1-0 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach, their seventh consecutive away game without a win.
Rose, who became the boss in September 2022, guided Leipzig to a 2023 German Cup and a 2023 German Super Cup. But the recent form of the team has not been up to expectations, and hence he was sacked along with his coaching staff and the first-team football head. The managing director of sport for the club, Marcel Schafer, pointed out that there was a need for fresh motivation to meet the goals of the season.
