With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction just round the corner, all ten franchises will be vying to go all out to pick the best of the talents available. With the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the IPL General Council shortlisting 574 players from the 1574 registered players, some of the key Indian players to go under the hammer include Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and a few others.
However, key franchises like Delhi Capitals (DC), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will also have a daunting task as they look for a captain after these franchises released their skippers from the previous edition during the retention deadline.
RCB to bid for KL Rahul, Devdutt Padikkal and Prasidh Krishna: Reports
Amidst this, sources close to SportsTiger have revealed that the Bengaluru-based franchise will look to bid for KL Rahul, Devdutt Padikkal and fast bowler Prasidh Krishna. However, the two batters have previously donned the RCB jersey, the Bengaluru-based franchise will look to secure the services of Prasidh Krishna, who has so far played for KKR and RR in the IPL history.
Speaking of RCB, the franchise has retained three players with Virat Kohli being their top retention, bagging INR 21 Crore, which is also the joint highest with Nicholas Pooran and after Heinrich Klaasen (INR 23 Crore). With the three retentions, RCB has spent INR 37 Crore so far and will have a sum of INR 83 Crore to spend in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
