The Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their dream comeback in IPL 2024 after defeating the Delhi Capitals by 47  runs at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. With this victory, RCB have now won five straight games to get up to the fifth spot on the table. On the other hand, the Capitals slipped to the sixth spot as they still have a superior net run rate compared to the Lucknow Super Giants.

Regarding the game, Delhi Capitals won the toss and asked Bengaluru to bat first. The hosts, then, got off to a blistering start but lost both their openers in quick succession. Caring this aggressive approach, Rajat Patidar and Will Jacks carried the RCB inning and posted a massive 88-run stand.

Post this middle-overs explosion, Bengaluru's lower-order struggled and managed to post a 187-run target in 20 overs. For DC, Khaleel Ahmed and Rasikh Dar Salam picked up two wickets each despite several dropped catches.

Chasing this total, Delhi also had a topsy-turvy start as they lost quick wickets but managed to score a few quick runs. But despite this flow of runs, RCB were always in the hunt as they reduced DC to 86-5 in 9.3 overs. With half the side in the pavilion, Bengaluru bowlers took control and bundled out Delhi at 140 in 19.1 overs to register a 47-run win.
