Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is reportedly set to join the India B squad for the upcoming round of the Duleep Trophy, which is slated to begin on September 12. After defeating India A with a margin of 76 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India B, led by Abhimanyu Easwaran, will be taking on India C at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur, but before that, their squad will be bolstered by the inclusion of left-handed batter Rinku Singh, who has been one of the rising stars of Indian cricket in recent times.

During the fourth and final day of the Duleep Trophy clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India A had a tough target of 275 runs in front of them on a pitch offering some assistance to the pacers. Yash Dayal, Mukesh Kumar, and Navdeep Saini took full advantage of the conditions, sharing seven wickets amongst themselves, to help bundle out Inda for 198 runs despite a fifty from KL Rahul, to secure six points on the Duleep Trophy standings for India B.

Rinku Singh will be eyeing spot in Indian Test squad down the road

With some good performances from the likes of Musheer Khan, Sarafraz Khan, and Rishabh Pant in the middle order for India B in their opening Duleep Trophy clash, the inclusion of Rinku Singh is only going to make them a stronger outfit if the report from Subhayan Chakraborty, the Principal Sports Correspondent of RevSportz, is proven to be true. The Abhimanyu Easwaran-led team will be looking to improve on their performance in the next round against India C, who are also coming off a win over India D in their tournament opener.

Rinku Singh, who has been a revelation for India in limited-overs cricket in the past year or so, will be looking to make a mark in red-ball domestic cricket with a memorable performance for India B in Duleep Trophy after splendid showing in recent matches of the UP T20 League 2024. With that, the left-handed batter could get himself a step closer to getting selected in the Indian squad in the Test format down the road.
