On June 4, Rishabh Pant had posted a tweet on his official Twitter account, which read, “I am also missing playing cricket,” in the build-up to the summit clash of the Test format. The World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle was headlined many times by the Roorkee-born cricketer, with his swashbuckling play as a batter and wicket-keeper.

Talking about the recovery of Rishabh Pant, he was spotted on May 24, stepping out of Mumbai airport without crutches, while wearing a brace in his right knee, which was surgically repaired in the immediate aftermath of his car accident. Also, he had earlier posted a story on Instagram about being at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to begin his rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, in the WTC final, India are struggling massively against Australia. They are currently down four wickets for 71 runs on the scorecard, during the evening session of play on day 2. Furthermore, Australia had finished their first innings for 469, thanks to the hundreds from Travis Head and Steve Smith.
