India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who leads Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League will reportedly leave the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Pant is the most capped player and leading run-scorer for Delhi Capitals. As per reports, the 26-year-old cricketer will leave his side ahead of the next season of the tournament.
The report by Dainik Jagran suggests that the franchise is not happy with Pant and is not sure of retaining the star. However, DC’s Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly wants the side to retain Pant. If they release him, then the 26-year-old left-handed wicketkeeper-batter can join Chennai Super Kings. According to News18, a CSK official has hinted that the five-time IPL winners are looking to sign a top Indian wicketkeeper as MS Dhoni’s successor if the former decides to hang his gloves.
KL Rahul to leave LSG and return to RCB for IPL 2025: Reports
Reports by News18 suggested that KL Rahul, current captain of Lucknow Super Giants, may end his three-year association with the franchise. Rahul was brutally slammed by LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka after his team lost a game against SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024, which was caught on camera. The Karnataka-based player, who joined the franchise in 2022 for INR 17 crore, can return to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The 31-year-old played for RCB in the IPL 2013 and IPL 2016. It has been reported that the Bengaluru-based franchise is looking to appoint an Indian as their captain. If the team acquires the services of Rahul once again, then he can take charge of the side in the next season.
