India’s ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma deleted one of his latest Instagram posts after fans trolled him for editing his picture. The 2024 T20 World Cup winning captain shared a few images from his practice session ahead of the first ODI against Sri Lanka. However, the post went viral for all the wrong reasons. It is to be noted that Sharma missed the T20I series as he drew curtains on his career in the shortest format after leading India to second T20 World Cup win.
Sharma joined the Indian contingent in Colombo ahead of the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Ahead of the first match, Sharma shared a picture of himself from the training session on social media, and the same picture was shared by the BCCI as well. A few eagle-eyed users were quick to point out that Rohit edited the photo to hide his tummy.
Needless to say, Sharma once again became a target of trolls for his physique, as they started suggesting him to go to a gym instead. The Indian skipper then decided to take down the post from his Instagram. Notably, the forthcoming ODI series will see Kohli, Rohit and Kuldeep Yadav hit the ground after a month. Not only this, but it will also mark the return of Shreyas Iyer to the national side for the first time since his central contract snub.
The ODI squad against Sri Lanka also features names like Harshit Rana, who was a member of the IPL-winning Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024. Apart from him, Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag and Chennai Super Kings’ Shivam Dube have also received their maiden ODI call up for the series.
