The Rohit Sharma-led Team India are taking on Australia in their final Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia. After being invited to bat first, captain Rohit Sharma played a crucial knock to help put a 100-plus score inside 10 overs.
The 36-year-old recorded his highest score of the T20 World Cup 2024, along with hitting pacer spearhead, Mitchell Starc for four maximums in an over. He continued his form as he scored 92 runs off 41 deliveries before falling off Mitchell Starc’s delivery.

It is to be noted that Rohit Sharma’s 92-run knock against Australia is the second highest score for Indian cricketer in T20 World Cups, only after Suresh Raina’s 101 which came against South Africa at the same venue. Rohit’s 92-run knock is also the second highest individual score by captain in T20 World Cups after Chris Gayle (98 vs India in Bridgetown, 2010).
