Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been issued three traffic tickets for over-speeding on the Mumbai-Pune expressway as he arrived for training at Team India’s training ahead of the game against Bangladesh. The Men in Blue, after winning three back-to-back games, will take on Bangladesh at the MCA Stadium in Pune. The Indian team have so far taken down Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 and sits comfortably on the top of the table.

After India’s recent win over Pakistan in Ahemadad, Team India arrived in Pune on October 15 and had their first practice session, yesterday, October 17. Rohit Sharma was away from the team as he made a halt in Mumbai to spend some time with his family. Hence, arriving at Team India’s practice, Sharma brought out his new Lamborghini Urus SUV and drove down the Mumbai-Pune expressway.
Regarding this commute, traffic authorities reported that Sharma drove at high speeds of over 200 km/h and even reached 215 km/h at times. Hence Sharma was issued three online traffic challans. In a report by Pune Mirror, a source from the Traffic Department expressed concern about the Indian captain’s antics on a busy highway during the World Cup and recommended that Sharma should travel via the team bus with a police escort.

Coming back to the World Cup, Rohit Sharma has been in scintillating form so far despite starting off with a duck against Australia. Sharma, against Afghanistan, scored a stunning 131 in 84 balls with 16 fours and five sixes. Then against Pakistan, Sharma lit up Ahmedabad with a rapid 63-ball 86 with six fours and six sixes.
