For this year's Asian Games, which will take place in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8, India on Monday named a 33-member rowing team, including four substitutes. The team was chosen soon after trials were held from June 27 to July 2 in Hyderabad, and the Army Rowing Node in Pune.

There are two substitute rowers in each of the teams for men and women. The Rowing Federation of India (RFI) announced that the women's team will consist of 13 rowers, whereas the men’s sides will consist of 20 rowers for the Asian Games 2023.

India had a fairly successful run in rowing at the previous Asian Games in 2018 which were held in Indonesia. India won three medals in total, which consisted of a gold medal in the Men’s Quadruple sculls category, a bronze medal in Men’s Lightweight single sculls and another bronze medal in Men’s lightweight double sculls.
