Harry Kane, the England captain, who plays for Bayern Munich in club football, stated that the players are “not listened” about their concerns in regards to scheduling in the sport. The 31-year-old also stated that since the players want “their piece, their tournament, their prize”, they have to get on with the game, and he isn’t the one to “complain about playing football”.

Notably, with the club football returning later this week after the conclusion of the ongoing international window, the top players seldom have respite in terms of their schedules, with the requirement to compete more than once a week. From this week onwards, the Premier League will continue for the next couple of months before its conclusion on May 25, and the scheduling isn’t any better in the Bundesliga either for Harry Kane.

I don't think the players are listened to that much, if I'm totally honest: Harry Kane

Apart from that, there is the matter of UEFA Champions League, which is going to kick into action at the start of April before its final scheduled to be held on May 31. Following that, the next international window will be from June 2 to 10, and just five days after that, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which is expanded to 32 teams, will be played from June 15 to July 13, which potentially won’t allow Harry Kane to have any substantial break before the start of the next season.

The English captain was quoted as saying about the scheduling matter, as per BBC Sport, “I don't think the players are listened to that much, if I'm totally honest. But also everyone wants their piece, their tournament, their prize, and the players are kind of the people who have to get on with it.. But it is what it is. I love playing football, so I'm never going to complain about playing football.”

Moreover, Harry Kane also spoke about how players can find a way to navigate through the higher number of matches in professional football. He said, “I think if you manage it well, with your coaches and your manager and your clubs, there are ways of getting more rest in certain moments. But it's not an easy question, it's not an easy situation. I think there could be a balance from both sides, but we'd have to see how that pans out.”
