Royal Challengers Bengaluru stalwart Virat Kohli engaged in a hilarious interaction with the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, over RCB's new signing Cameron Green in the IPL 2024 opener. The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League kicked off on March 22, with reigning champions Chennai Super Kings engaging in a fiery battle with Faf Du Plessis-led RCB at the Chepauk.

The match saw Ruturaj Gaikwad’s side clinching the win by six wickets. During the match, Virat Kohli engaged in a hilarious interaction with CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja regarding Cameron Green.

Just before Kohli fell prey to Mustafizur Rahman, he exchanged a hilarious one-liner with Jadeja when Cameron Green was at the striker’s end. Kohli asked Jadeja to bowl slowly to Green so that he could at least get some breath. The incident took place in the 11th over of the first innings, when Jajdeja was preparing to deliver his next ball. He told Jadeja, “Abey saans toh lene de usko.”

Mayank Dagar gets debut cap from Virat Kohli ahead of IPL 2024 opener

All-rounder Mayank Dagar received his RCB debut cap from former skipper and star batter Virat Kohli before the onset of the clash. Dagar was traded to the Royal Challenger Bengaluru ahead of the IPL 2024 auction that involved Shahbaz Ahmad moving to the SunRisers Hyderabad. While handing over the cap to Dagar, Kohli said, “We all are behind you, have a lot of fun. This is a great place to play cricket.”

In the game, Dagar bowled two overs while conceding six runs, and didn’t get to bat against Chennai. The match saw Mustafizur Rahman scalping a total of four wickets while conceding 29 runs. While Rachin Ravindra finished as CSK’s top scorer with 37 runs, Anuj Rawat stole the show with his 48-run knock to give his side some stability.
